****IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT***
We understand that our office’s work is important to the lives of nearly all Henderson County residents and we are committed to keeping the office running. We have implemented state and federal recommendations as a preventative measure against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Effective May 18th, the Henderson County Attorney’s Office will reopen to the public in a limited manner. To keep in line with Governor Beshear’s Healthy at Work guidelines, our office will resume normal business hours but will operate with reduced staffing levels, limit face-to-face interaction and screen employees to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Although we are open to the public, we still encourage you to call our office, 270-827-5753, to conduct regular business instead of coming into our office. Staff will be in the office to assist but will also be available by phone and email to handle matters that do not require in-person contact.
CHILD SUPPORT: The Child Support Division is accepting in-person payments during normal business hours (8a-5p). In order to minimize the handling and/or passing of receipts, our office will email you a receipt upon request in lieu of a paper receipt. Alternatively, payments can be made online, by phone with your caseworker or by mail to the state at: Child Support Division, PO Box 14059, Lexington, KY 40512. Please be sure to include your social security number and/or IV-D number on your check, money order or cashier’s check. Remember, do not mail cash.
BAD CHECK / CATS PROGRAM / JAIL FEES: In-person payments are now being accepted during this time. Please call our office at 270-827-5753 or email CATS@hendersonky.us to discuss your case. In order to minimize the handling and/or passing of receipts, our office will email you a receipt upon request in lieu of a paper receipt.
EMERGENCY MATTERS: The office will remain open to assist with emergency guardianship, child neglect, mental health and Casey’s Law matters. Please call 270-827-5753.
As always, the criminal prosecution division remains available to law enforcement for emergencies at all times, day and night.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Hopefully, these steps will allow us to keep providing vital services to the public while also ensuring our staff is healthy and able to work.
