Attention Taxpayers:
Governor Beshear issued an Executive Order directing vehicle values be returned to their 2021 assessment for tax year 2022 & 2023.  The change will be reflected in our vehicle system on February 28, 2022.
What this means for you:
*If you have already paid your 2022 vehicle tax, you will be getting a refund for the difference from the Department of Revenue within 180 days.  
*If you are renewing today-February 28, we will call the PVA to adjust the assessment so your amount will be correct.
*March renewal notices have already been mailed and are incorrect, so please call 270-826-3906 for an updated total.
*April renewal notices will be delayed, but will show correct amounts.

The Henderson County Clerks Office has eighteen full-time employees.

Our services include:

  • Marriage licenses
  • Legal document recording
  • Vehicle registration, transfers, and handicap placards
  • Voter registration and elections


OPTION 1: Office Renewals. Our office reopened to the public on July 1, 2020. CDC guidelines are in place. We ask that you wear a mask when entering & limit the number of people in your party. 

OPTION 2: Online renewal at You will need a credit card to process payment.

OPTION 3: Mail in renewal to: Henderson County Clerk, PO BOX 374 , Henderson, KY 42419 *You will need to include a current insurance card, along with a $2.00 mailing fee.

PAYMENT: You may visit us in person or call our office to pay delinquent taxes @ 270-826-3906 using a credit card. (convenience fee applies) 

VOTER REGISTRATION: You can register to vote or update your current registration by visiting you would like information on obtaining an absentee ballot, please call our office at 270-826-3906. 


Application to become an Election Worker

Some things to know:

*You must be a Henderson registered voter.

*It is a paid position.

*It requires working from 5:15 am - 6:30 pm.  

*You must attend at least one 2 1/2 hour election training.
